Its that time of the year when we all are making new year resolutions, and just like the previous year will forget by the first week of Jan what exactly were the promises made! And if, by any slighest of chances we do remember the resolutions, that means that we werent sloshed this time like the last one!!
New Year resolutions are like the annual reports of the companies. This year this is what we did and this is what we are going to do... both, the companies and we, fail to live up on the promises. 2007 has been the worst year of my life and i wish that this hold true for the rest of my life. I cant stand another 2007 or worst. So my first New Year resolutions is that I ll try that something like this year never repeats again in my life. Most of it isnt in my hands but then, my fate is in my hands. So, i ll try.
Another resolution for me is coming from 800x600 to 1024x768! For technically challenged - this means that I ll try my best to buy a sexy, sleak, and useful laptop this year.
Many of you will be thinking that i am creating a wish-list rather than resolutions. A good arguement but i ll let it pass. You see, i am not interested in listening to something that i dont approve of! Oblivion the right choice when your interests are in question!
I cant make resolutions like i ll try to be a better person and blah blah... You cant change or amend what is already perfected! Honestly, to me, the whole concept of new year and new year resolutions is a farce. i dont believe in any of them. It is just a date change like any other day in the last 365 days. The celebrations are meaningless, the hype is useless and in the end, we are stranded pennyless!
So guys! yes its new year time! enjoy if you want to but remember the simple fact which is happenin for the past many years and will keep happenin till eternity! Just a date change wont bring any difference anywhere.
All my resolutions - the dustbin is the place for you! and all the celebrations - i have no time for you! (although i m celebratin this year!)
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU! AND REMEMBER TO CLICK ON THE ADS ON THIS BLOG!!!!

India does it again!
Well, what reaches the apex, comes down too! The Indian cricket team's moment to create history in Down Under has been damaged without batting an eyelid. They lost and how! The match is still on but we are nine down for a paltry 159 and the question arises is whether we ll be able to reach our previous inning's score of 196 or no? Oh Gosh! they are all out for 161!!
We have done it again!
One of the biggest flaws in this Indian team is the pace attack. I mean, you cannot afford to go to Australia with pacers who can't bowl a tad more than 135 km/hr. I think this is the slowest bowled by Brett Lee. Anil Kumble can bowl faster than that I bet. So what is the problem with this team? After two stupendous series it is back to square one. Null, zero, blob, full-moon and million more adjectives to their names.
Harbhajan Singh, in an interview in yesterdays paper said that this target is gettable and we ll do it! Well, not impressive with the bowl and lets just forget how he gave away his wicket to the Aussies on the Indian Kebab platter.
The game is over and the post match analysis is underway. But for what? Analysis of what? Its out of my comprehension.
We are a bunch of guys who amidst themselves are the strongest team and individuals and stats to beat the world, but, in reality, we are just overrated flock of birds who fly at the slightest hint of fight.

Benazir's death, Pakistan's loss, India nervous!
The death of Benazir Bhutto has come as a shocker to all of us, I am sure. Pakistan is back to square one and on the verge of a complete collapse. It is interesting to note that every time the country is close to getting back on the right track, something or the other crops up and Pakistan goes back to where it all began.
President Musharraf, in my opinion will be a happy man today. His one of the biggest threats is just been assassinated. The blame is on the Al-Qaida, but, to me, the political motives were clear behind the deed.
If we see at India, the situation is not very favourable as the elections in Pakistan were nearing and the restoration of democracy there was of one of the primary concerns for India as the bilateral ties between the two nations were dependent heavily on them. Now, after the dirty game of politics, India, is looking at their neighbour all the more closely because whatever happens on the other side of the fence, we, in India, too, face the repercussions.
Some people are saying that Pakistan's days are numbered. But, I ll say, the game is not over until its over!

Mayor Shubha Raul's absurdity!
Okay! i am back after a long hiatus, if I may call it that way... I was trying to get myself back on to make this blog like a mouth-piece of my thoughts rather than something very personal to me...
What prompted me to begin again? Today's cover story in Mumbai Mirror.... Mayor, Shubha Raul throwing in the idea of having a 'no-car' day sometime in January. The idea sounds pretty decent and given the fact that many countries do practice these innovative ways for different reasons is a good observation by the Mayor. But, what made to have a hearty, cynical and a sarcastic laugh to start off my day was Mayor's urge to use the public transport to commute on that day!
I would like to ask the respected Mayor, that, first of all, after your first 'media-savvy' commute in the local train to one of the western suburb a few weeks ago still afresh in your memory? I think not, and, if it is then I think no one except you and your body-guards were travelling in that second class ladies compartment.
A week ago people in Virar agitated about the worsened conditions of commuters in the local trains and to top it all you are asking people to use public transport for that day. I mean, come on, get a life. Just think that if this is the situation at present, then observing a 'no-car' will create a ruckus and paralyse the already puntured public transport system of Mumbai. The buses are overcrowded, the drivers stop the buses on the stops according to their free will and the trains are heavily crowded and always behind schedule especially on the habour and central lines.
What was the thought dear Mayor that came to your brillinat brain that you thought of observing a 'no-car' day in Mumbai? First of all, make the living condition of the people of your dear city atleast average and then bring these amazing ideasborrowed from other countries to Mumbai.
Even in your wildest dreams can you imagine that if all the people in Mumbai on that ill-fated day will lock their cars for public transport, a greater tsunami will hit us - a tsunami of people choking the transport. Everyday morning all the roads in Mumbai are jammed and it takes minimum an hour to reach the destination which otherwise, is just 15 minutes away.
Mayor, please think with a sane mind before implementing any such decisions in this city. Remember, this is Mumbai not Shanghai.
